Kemira supplier relationship management includes performance measurement and development, risk management, as well as setting minimum requirements for all business partners.
Kemira Supplier Profile
When it comes to minimum requirements for our business partners and risk management, Kemira puts focus and prioritizes three areas:
1. Compliance with Kemira Code of Conduct for
Suppliers, Agents and Distributors
All Kemira’s Suppliers undertake to comply with Kemira Code of Conduct for Suppliers, Agents and Distributors.
All new raw material Suppliers fill in self-assessment questionnaire which assess major risks related to quality, security of deliveries and sustainability performance.
Kemira’s strategically important Suppliers, from which substantial purchases are made and/or which are located in high-risk countries, are requested to take sustainability assessments via our external Partner.
3. Ethical and Quality Audits
Choosing responsible business partners is becoming increasingly important for Kemira. Our Suppliers contribute significantly to the development of sustainable Supply Chain by their performance both in social and environmental aspects.
Code of Conduct for suppliers, agents and distributors
Kemira is committed to ethical and sustainable business conduct and compliance which are expressed in the Kemira Code of Conduct. Kemira expects its business partners to adhere to the same standards. In order to ensure this, Kemira has developed a Code of Conduct for suppliers, agents and distributors.
Kemira will only deal with reliable business partners who show consideration for the environment and people. Kemira expects its business partners to:
- Conduct their business with integrity
- Respect human rights and provide appropriate working conditions
- Protect the environment
The above expectations are included in all new contracts and agreements that Kemira signs with its business partners as of October 2012.
Interested in becoming a supplier?
When new business partners are selected, they and their business partners are expected to be committed to the Kemira Code of Conduct for suppliers, agents and distributors and to actively support its implementation within their sphere of influence. All new contracts need to include the Kemira Code of Conduct for suppliers, agents and distributors.
All of the significant suppliers covering more than 40% of Kemira's annual spend have signed a contract to undergo a human rights screening. The contract commits the suppliers to fair and equal treatment of their workforce, and specific attention is paid to not using child labor in any of their operations. New suppliers have to undergo a minimum requirement screening that checks compliance with applicable laws, the Kemira Code of Conduct, and the Kemira Code of Conduct for suppliers, agents and distributors, and a risk assessment.
