Organization

Recently, the focus in Kemira’s strategic transformation has shifted from acquisitions to business innovation. Operating in the global marketplace requires a flexible and efficient organization that can proactively identify customers’ changing needs and respond to them.

The global growth focus is on emerging economies such as Asia and Latin America. To an increasing extent, we are pursuing growth and new customers outside our traditionally strong market areas, such as Europe and the United States. In 2007 we made acquisitions and investments to enhance our business presence in Russia, South America, and China.

At the moment, the majority of our revenue is generated in highly developed markets showing favorable economic development. However, the risk of economic slow-down in these markets has increased. We have therefore improved our efficiency in order to maintain our competitive position even in rough times. Operational efficiency measures include the Group-wide development program “Kemira – from Good to Great.”
