Phil Hart, Global Biocides Product Manager

Phil Hart of the Kennesaw office (US) is responsible for the global development and profitability of the biocides product line for Oil & Mining. Growing up, he worked in a local paper mill in his hometown of Glens Falls, NY. He studied Chemical Engineering with a focus on Pulp and Paper Science followed by seven years of experience in the industry before joining Kemira. “I would never have thought that a ‘pulp and paper’ guy would have found a home in Oil & Mining, but I have the found the challenge of learning new markets and applications very exciting” says Phil.

Phil’s typical work day begins with contacting his European and Asia Pacific counterparts to catch up on the day’s activities and offer his support. In the afternoons he works with business partners in our own Sourcing, EHSQ and R&D to address immediate issues and assess the progress in our strategic initiatives.

Phil travels extensively to various parts of the world and faces the challenge of thinking on a truly global level. His focus is on embracing the cultures, views, and ideals of his internal and external customers in order to build successful relationships.  “By having multiple perspectives we can better relate to and understand how the markets are changing and be better prepared to support our customers, as well as our own employees”.

Phil truly enjoys being a part of Kemira.  He feels the company cares about its employees and provides opportunities for motivated people to grow within the organization.  When asked what he enjoyed about his job, Phil replied “The best thing about my work is the people in our group. We are more than co-workers, we are family. There is a real sense that everyone is aligned and working towards a common goal.”
