Jane, Communications Trainee

Jane Toikka studies communication at the University of Helsinki. She came to Kemira in October 2009 for an internship related to her studies. She worked as a trainee in the global marketing and communications team and her responsibilities included many challenging tasks related to internal and external communications. One of her main tasks was updating the global intranet and training the users.

Jane enjoyed especially the international atmosphere, where you work with colleagues all over the world. Varied and challenging assignments have also taught a lot. “Through my assignments I have co-operated with Kemira’s functions and segments widely. This has helped me to understand the actions of a global company from many different perspectives”, Jane says.

The training period climaxed in June 2010, when Jane got the opportunity to help Kemira’s office in China in Shanghai’s world exhibition. Jane spent one week in China helping with the arrangements for Kemira days that were held for the customers, employees and their families. The event took place in Finland’s Kirnu pavilion's VIP area.
