Kemira ChemSolutions proudly launches Protural™, a sodium benzoate feed additive. Kemira has obtained the EU registration on the 20th of May for sodium benzoate (EU Regulation No 496/2011), which will be available on the market under the brand name Protural™.
Protural ™ is a solid zootechnical additive for application in weaned piglet feed, acting as a performance enhancer. Animal trials have consistently shown a positive effect on piglets’ feed intake, daily growth and improved animal performance.
Similar to benzoic acid it is excreted as hippuric acid and not accumulated in the animal’ tissue. Moreover, the product is highly soluble, easy to handle, not irritant to skin and eyes and has no pungent odor.
