Iron-based Coagulants

Iron based coagulants are effective in reducing biological decomposition products at low pH. Iron products are also excellent at inhibiting odour and corrosion by eliminating hydrogen sulphide. The products used for drinking water treatment comply with international standards.
 
Kemira produces different types of ferric coagulants for water treatment. Kemira  Ferric Chlorides and Kemira Ferric Sulfates are a group of effective primary coagulants in liquid form, based on trivalent iron (Fe3+). These products are excellent for drinking water production, sewage and wastewater treatment as well as sludge conditioning. The products prevents odour by eliminating hydrogen sulphide.

Kemira Ferric Sulphates granular, stand for high purity solid ferric sulphate products. The iron content is 19-21% as ferric iron. The products are soluble in water to a concentration of approx. 10% Fe-solution (approx. 36% Fe2(SO4)3. They are effective primary coagulants, excellent for both drinking water and waste water treatment in a wide pH-range.

Since Kemira Ferrous Sulfates are able to form complex compounds with phosphorus, these products show excellent performance in simultaneous wastewater treatment processes.
