Pharmaceutical grade calcium acetate can be used as a phosphate binder to treat Hyperphosphatemia (elevated blood phosphorus levels), as well as in laboratory reagents and in the production of anti-epileptic drugs. The product is FDA listed (DMF # 18997).
Industrial grade calcium acetate is used in the production of lubricants, carbon black and resins for printing ink, in calcium soap manufacture, in water treatment, as a concrete accelerator and as a PVC foam blowing agent.
Calcium acetate is available as white powder or agglomerate. These two versions are chemically identical and differ only in physical form. The agglomerate offers the properties on non-dustiness, improved wettability, higher reactivity, higher bulk density and improved free-flowability.
Calcium acetate is available in pharmaceutical and in industrial grades.
