Ensiling

Ensiling is an anaerobic process where anaerobic bacteria, usually lactic acid bacteria, produce organic acids which preserve the feedstuff.

Many kinds of feedstuffs can be preserved by ensiling. These include silage (grass, maize, legumes etc.), cereals, and some by-products from the food industry. The main application areas are ensiling of silage and high moisture grain.

Kemira AIVĀ® / KemiSile products are used in all types of ensiling.
