Fennoact® to delignify pulp selectively

Loss of fiber strength can be a problem in peroxide bleaching. Kemira’s solution to this is Fennoact®, a new application in which hydrogen peroxide bleaching is enhanced by a catalyst. Fennoact is used in a specific acidic bleaching stage to delignify pulp very selectively. In addition to lignin, Fennoact also effectively removes calcium deposits.

Fennobio and Eco-Brite chelating agents

In chemical pulp bleaching and in the bleaching of mechanical and chemimechanical pulp the control of metals is extremely important to avoid destruction of the bleaching chemical. Kemira's Fennobio (biodegradable) and Eco-Brite chelating agents are designed to help you with this. They also have a dispersing effect, which helps to control deposits in the pulp line. Fennobio products are biodegradable and they also contain less nitrogen than traditional chelating agents (DTPA/EDTA), and no phosphorous.

Fennobrite™ enables efficient filtrate circulation

Large amounts of silicate traditionally used in peroxide bleaching to deactivate transition metal ions tend to cause deposits and runnability problems. Kemira’s answer to these problems is a Fennobrite - family of silicate-free bleaching stabilizers, which enable efficient circulation of filtrate without scaling problem. When using Fennobrite, energy savings in presses and in drying section could be reached due to better dewatering than when using silicate. Fennobrite can also be tailor-made with Lionsurf deinking aids to provide the most cost efficient solution for your recycled fiber process.
