Pulping Additives - Brown Stock Washing
Pulp Defoamers
Maximum amount of pulp with minimal deposition potential. Foaming in your brown-stock washing and screening may cause significant loss of capacity. Poor washing before bleaching increases the need for bleaching chemicals. The closure of water loops and increased chemical recovery enhance foam generation and the potential for deposit build-up. We have the expertise to help you choose the right defoamers and deposit control agents, when you want to enhance COD-removal and maximize your pulp production, with minimal deposit potential in the pulp mill or on the paper machine.
Our silicone based defoamer Aerotech 6000® efficiently improves the COD-removal in brown stock washing and simultaneously reduces the transfer of defoamer residuals to the bleaching plant.
Deposit Control Agents
The closure of water loops enhance the potential for deposit build-up, which may lead to capacity loss in the screening, bleaching and evaporation processes and risk of impurities in the fiber. We offer a wide range of effective deposit controlling agents that can be applied to eliminate problems caused, for example, by extractives and Ca-based deposits.
Our highly effective Fennodispo products are recommended for these applications.
Digester Aids
Digester cooking of wood chips to create quality pulp can be enhanced with the proper application of digester aids to the process. These aids are Anthraquinone (AQ), select surfactants and specialty blended products.
While most know of the increase to actual yield from the application of AQ to kraft digester operations, it is only one of a large number of positive impacts to pulp production and quality. Depending on the choice of digester aids, bottlenecks in the recovery area, shives/knot reduction, pitch control, refining energy reduction, tensile improvement and other process improvements to the final pulp quality and obvious cost reductions from these improvements are available.
