Kemira increases prices of inorganic coagulants in Central Europe as of January 1[st] 2021

Kemira, a global chemicals company serving customers in water intensive industries, announces price increases for inorganic coagulants based on hydrochloric acid in the Central European region.

Coagulants are essential for sustainable, safe and cost-efficient water and wastewater treatment operations. Kemira is committed to being a reliable and trusted supplier to its customers and to minimizing all cost impacts where possible.

However, tight market conditions for key raw materials, in particular for hydrochloric acid in Central Europe, as well as the tight availability and high cost of copperas and magnetite, make it necessary to pass on cost increases. Also, during 2020 supply chain and transportation cost have increased and will continue to do so for instance with the introduction of a CO2 tax in Germany.

The following price increases will become effective as of January 1st, 2021 or as contract terms allow:

Product line Product family Price increase

Iron Coagulants

Fe-Chloride

+ 8-15%

Iron Coagulants

Fe-Sulfate

+ 7-12%

Aluminum Coagulants

Chloride-based + 4-6%

Price increases will vary based on geographic region and will differ by product type and can also be higher in selected areas.

Kemira continues to be committed as a long-standing supplier of high-quality products and solutions for water intensive industries globally.
