Sodium bisulfite

Sodium bisulfite is a reducing agent used in applications similar to sulfur dioxide. In the pulp and paper industry it’s used as a sulfonation agent in CTMP production.

Sodium bisulfite is also used together with Kemira’s Borino in on-site production of sodium dithionite for bleaching of mechanical pulps. It is also well-suited in removing residual bleaching chemicals.
