Kemira has once again been awarded a gold-level rating in the EcoVadis sustainability assessment. EcoVadis is the world’s leading provider of sustainability ratings.
Kemira has succeeded in significantly improving its score over the past couple of years. This year, Kemira’s score peaked again to the highest level in the company’s history: 83 points out of 100. This means that, according to the EcoVadis assessment, Kemira is among the top 3% of companies globally in corporate sustainability.
“Last year, we improved our ranking significantly, and now we have improved it even further,” said Saara Lähdetie, Senior Manager and ESG Controller responsible for Kemira’s sustainability reporting.
EcoVadis assesses companies’ performance in the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and responsible and sustainable procurement. Its methodology is based on international sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative, the UN Global Compact, and ISO 26000.
Kemira performed particularly well compared to other companies in the same industry in sustainable procurement. Kemira scored 88 out of 100, while the industry average was 40. This shows that Kemira also sets high expectations for its suppliers and supply chains.
“Kemira is committed to promoting responsible business practices, and we have done a great deal of good work, especially on climate-related matters. For our customers in water-intensive industries, we are a trusted partner that helps them improve their resource efficiency and advance their own sustainability targets,” said Lähdetie.
The EcoVadis result supports Kemira’s broader sustainability ambitions and growth strategy. As a global leader in sustainable chemical solutions for water-intensive industries, we focus on helping customers improve resource efficiency, advance circularity, and strengthen water resilience. Sustainability is a key driver of our company strategy and long-term growth.
