Kemira will launch co-determination negotiations at the Siilinjärvi site and in Espoo R&D Center. The endeavor of the company is to exit the calcium sulfate pigments business and production at the Siilinjärvi site and the development work of calcium sulfate products in Espoo R&D Center by the end of 2011. These products are used as filler and coating pigments in paper manufacturing. The demand for calcium sulfate has decreased permanently to a lower level and the prospects to continue the business are weak. The negotiations will pertain in Siilinjärvi to 17 and in Espoo to 16 employees.
