We are on a mission to find the greatest innovation of all time as part of the build up to the 2010 award of the world’s largest prize for innovation: the Millennium Technology Prize.
What is the greatest life-enhancing innovation of all time?
The world’s greatest innovations were born of radical and sometimes revolutionary thinking – and a desire to change things for the better.
Every two years Technology Academy Finland rewards life-enhancing innovations and the process of selecting the 2010 winner is now underway.
Kemira is one of the main partners of the prize. In Kemira’s capacity as one of the main partners, the objective is to promote Finnish know-how in the field of chemistry as well as to enhance the quality of life and to encourage sustainable economic development.
However, we want to get you thinking about innovation over a greater time scale and to decide which historical innovation most significantly improved the quality of life on our planet. To vote, go to the Millennium Campaign website and you will be in line to win a Nokia Booklet 3G mini laptop! The campaign closes on 28 May 2010.
Who should win the Millennium Technology Prize 2010?
Take part in the public poll and vote for the 2010 Laureate whose innovation you think has most significantly improved our quality of life. The Laureates and their innovations are profiled at www.millenniumprize.fi/vote where you can select your winner! The public’s favourite will be announced on the Millennium website at http://www.millenniumprize.fi/ when the poll has closed on 28 May 2010.
Which life-enhancing innovation would you invent?
There’s an innovator in every one of us. Will you be the next Tim Berners-Lee, Shuji Nakamura or Robert Langer? Would you save mankind by bringing eternal peace to the world? Play along with our tongue-in-cheek Millennium Facebook Quiz at http://apps.facebook.com/milleniumquiz/ to find out which innovation you might invent!
