Kemira had two Kemira days for the customers, employees and their families in China in Finland’s Kirnu pavilion on the 21st and 22nd of June 2010. The purpose of the event was to give some of Kemira’s customers, employees and their families the possibility to see the pavilion of Finland and also to visit the Shanghai World Exhibition in general. The event goes also well with the slogan of Finland’s pavilion: “Sharing inspiration”. The mission is not only to create interests in Finland, but also to openly enhance an atmosphere where we invite visitors to share ideas and experience together in Kirnu. says Ronald Kwan, SVP, Region APAC.
The first Kemira day brought about 130 visitors to the pavilion’s VIP area on the 3rd floor. The event was started by two Finnish folk music artists Riitta Väisänen ja Petra Lisitsin-Mantere. The frisky melodies played by violin and harmonica were followed by Ronald Kwan’s welcoming words.
Ronald Kwan welcomed everyone warmly to Kirnu and invited people to taste the Finnish lunch. On the table was served for example salmon, rye bread, meat balls and lingonberry curd. After the lunch the guests were allowed to explore Kirnu and the world exhibition area freely.
The second Kemira day brought almost the same amount of visitors as the first one. Together with Ronald Kwan there was also Tomas Forsgård, VP, Segment M&I, O&M, APAC welcoming the guests. Tomas told about the Finnish Kirnu pavilion and encouraged the visitors to try the sauna on the 3rd floor. However nobody dared at least this time to experience the modern sauna made by wood and glass.
Kemira is one of the official partners of Finland’s Kirnu pavilion. Shanghai’s World Exhibition was opened the 1st of May and so far over 30 million visitors have seen it.
