Kemira to acquire Arkema's coagulants business for water treatment

Kemira Water has agreed to acquire Arkema’s coagulants business for water treatment. In 2006, the revenue of Arkema’s coagulants business for water treatment totaled approx. EUR 19 million.

Arkema’s coagulants business for water treatment includes three production units located in France and Spain. By this acquisition Kemira would improve its market position for coagulants in France and Spain.

This acquisition is subject to information and consultation of Arkema’s personnel representatives and to the approval of the relevant antitrust authorities.

Kemira Water – Kemira’s water treatment chemical business – is the world’s leading supplier of inorganic coagulants and ranks third in water treatment polymers. We offer customized water treatment and sludge treatment solutions to municipal and private water treatment plants and industry.

In 2006, Kemira Water had revenue of EUR 468 million and a payroll of approx. 2 000 people. It is present in 30 countries.
