Kemira was recognized for the second consecutive year for its disclosure of information regarding climate change and was one of the companies featured in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI) published today in the CDP Nordic 2014 report. Kemira achieved a score of 97 out of 100 (96 in 2013). High score suggests the depth and quality of climate change data the company has disclosed to investors and the global marketplace. The Nordic Climate Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI) consists of those companies graded within the top 10%.
“We introduced the Kemira Carbon Index in 2013 along with a target of reducing the index value to or below 80 by the end of 2020. This contributes to driving our activities towards improved energy efficiency and climate change performance”, says Kemira’s Director for Corporate Responsibility, Riikka Timonen.
The Nordic Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index is based on the analysis of Nordic companies’ responses to CDP’s 2014 questionnaire which focuses on greenhouse gas emissions, emissions reduction targets, risks and opportunities associated with climate change and related reporting. CDP represents 767 investors who hold more than USD 92 trillion assets under management. CDP is one tool for investors and other stakeholders to evaluate company’s risks and opportunities related to climate change.
